K-12 Testing During last year’s testing season, more than 675,000 students refused to take state exams. An updated FairTest tally http://fairtest.org/more-500000-refused-tests-2015shows the movement spanned the country from Oregon to Rhode Island and Illinois to Louisiana. Initial reports for spring 2016 indicate that opting out remained strong in many states, such as New York, while protest activities expanded to new jurisdictions such as Georgia and Tennessee.
