Principles in Action
FairTest is receiving word that, as hoped, schools and districts around the nation are using the National Forum on Assessment's Principles and Indicators for Student Assessment Systems to think through their assessment practices.
FairTest would like to hear more detail from schools and districts about their use of the Principles. Our questions include: What was the purpose of the discussion in which the Principles was used? How was it used? And, what have the results been, in terms of planning or actual changes?
Community Involvement
Principle 5 calls for community participation in developing new assessment systems.
This is important both for improving assessment practices and for developing support for new assessments. FairTest is interested in hearing about how schools have involved parents and community members in assessment development and use.
Send Description
If you can send us a brief description of your activities using the Principles, please address it to Principles at FairTest, by regular mail, fax or e-mail (see page 2 and back cover for numbers and addresses).
