FairTest Examiner, March 2009

Dear Friend of FairTest:

As you open the Spring 2009 issue of The Examiner, I hope that you will consider making a donation to FairTest. FairTest is at risk of becoming another victim of our national economic crisis. Unlike Wall Street, we have no bailout in sight . . . unless you help us today!

For nearly 25 years, FairTest has been the only national organization whose sole mission has been to end the misuse of standardized testing. That mission is more important now than ever. FairTest is leading the call for change, and that message is getting through. In large part because of our work, more than 815 colleges and universities now have test-optional admissions policies. Many states are rethinking their high-states testing policies, and the new Congress is planning an overhaul of “No Child Left Behind”

Assessment reformers are poised to win major victories, but that won’t be possible if FairTest has to downsize our already tiny staff or, worse, shut our doors. In the midst of this severe economic turmoil, several major foundation funders have deferred renewing FairTest’s grant support because of their own financial straits. Without short-term funding to bridge the gap, our future is in jeopardy.

Please keep FairTest alive and effective by making the most generous donation possible. Your contribution is fully tax deductible and can be made securely online at https://secure.entango.com/donate/MnrXjT8MQqk.
