Examiner Newsletter, March 2013

Since the previous issue of the Examiner, FairTest staff have created two new infographics and updated several fact sheets.

The 8 Ways to Fight Standardized Tests infographic links to our new fact sheet 8 Steps to Work for Testing Reform.

Our What’s Wrong with Standardized Tests infographic links to our recently revised fact sheet of the same name.

FairTest helped write the Massachusetts Statement against High-Stakes Standardized Testing now endorsed by 160 professors and researchers.

In December, FairTest submitted written testimony on how high-stakes connects testing with punitive discipline to the subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Human Rights of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary hearing on ending the school-to-prison pipeline. See our fact sheet on this issue, How Testing Feeds the School-to-Prison Pipeline.

We now produce a weekly Testing Resistance and Reform News update linking to significant assessment-related stories. You can find back issues at If you would like to have each week’s issue sent to you immediately, you can join our email listserv by going to
